Mandatory military service in Croatia was abolished in 2008. Now the government has plans to reconstruct compulsory military service to men aged 18-30, a crucial change in the country's defence policy. This decision, supported by the fresh draft law, aims to strengthen the armed forces and guarantee national security, while offering financial services and alternate forms of service for conscripts.
