The European Commission has initiated an urgent procedure to prevent the entry into force on Thursday of the retaliatory duties on goods imported from the US worth EUR 93 billion - said European Commission spokesperson Olof Gill. Within the meaning of the EC, duties of 15% will enter into force on 8 August, with the US administration indicating as a date of 7 August.
