The German Football Union (DFB) imposed a fine of EUR 18,000 on Bayer 04 Leverkusen football club. The reason for the punishment was for the fans of this squad to hang during an distant Bundesliga match against Werder Bremen's banner with the inscription: "There are many genres of music, but only 2 genders".
The DFB condemned football fans from Leverkusen, recognizing the above inscription as a manifestation of discrimination. The manager of the penal club Fernando Carro humbly agreed with this, who called the behaviour of Bayer fans untasteful and having nothing to do with the ideals of openness and tolerance.
The only group whose representatives powerfully defended Bayer's supporters was the alternate to Germany.
