On India's newest aircraft carrier INS Vikrant, a marine version of the light Indian combat aircraft LCA (Light Combat Aircraft), a comparative of the HAL Tejas aircraft created for India's armed forces, landed. It would seem that an Indian plane on an Indian ship foreshadows a bright future for both the Indian navy and the Indian arms industry. The truth, however, is much more complicated.
