Here's the situation.
The planet will be ruled by whoever has access to fresh generation integrated circuits. Photolithographic device for specified production is manufactured by 1 single company in the world: the Dutch ASML. No 1 else can make specified devices, and in the next 10 years they will learn. ASML is and will be a monopolist for a long time. Its technology is mainly based on Philips' achievements, which utilized to be 1 of the most innovative companies in the world, and now sells kettles and another vacuum cleaners. There are quite a few American patents in ASML technology, but this is the largest European ace, not up the sleeve, but on the table. Without ASML lies America and lies China.
Using ASML machines for respective 100 million Euros is not easy. Taiwanese from TSMC and Koreans from Samsung can do that. Americans and Europeans can't! Can they learn? I think they'd request 10 years for that, too.
The U.S. inactive rules the planet due to the fact that they have chips from Taiwan. China could possibly take over its (because Taiwan historically belongs to China) province, but they will not, due to the fact that then Europe would halt selling ASML machines to them. But 1 day Taiwan may want to join the wealthy China and then America will have a problem. Not Europe, due to the fact that Europe has ASML!
Therefore, China will strive for relationship with Europe. Trump, on the another hand, makes a immense strategical mistake turning distant from Europe. Without ASML machines and chips from Taiwan America will not be large again, just the opposite.
