U.S. Navy will have the first female commander

The U.S. legislature was to approve the presidential nomination of Admiral Lisa Franchetti as 33rd Chief of Maritime Operations. Ultimately, during a modest ceremony at the Pentagon, on November 2, Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro sworn in Admiral Lisa Franchetti as 33rd Chief of Marine Operations. She will be the first female in this post, as well as the second female in the past of the Joint Chiefs of Staff just after Admiral Linda Fagan, commanding the Coast Guard.
