In its usage of drones as transportation machines, Amazon is far behind the U.S. Marines. In its 2024 budget proposal, the U.S. Marine Corps requests $13 million for 41 Tactical Resupply Unmanned Aircraft Systems (TRUAS) tactical transport drones. These are multirotors capable of transporting 150 pounds (68 kg) to the front line. This spring, the first machines of this type, ordered in August 2022, are to enter service.
