By the mid-1930s, the US Air Force plans to have only 2 types of bombers in service. These will, of course, be the brand fresh B-21 Raider, and interestingly, the longest remaining B-52 in service. They will undergo deep modernization and automotive engineering that will keep them in service until at least 2050. This means that they have a chance to exceed 100 years of service in US strategical aviation.
