As reported by the portal “Star and Stripes”, the United States promises to aid Guyana buy fresh planes, helicopters, a fleet of military drones and, for the first time, radar technology. Details were not immediately clear, and Guyanese officials declined to give the amount they expected to pay. The confirmation of the plan came a day after US Deputy National safety advisor Jon Finer and elder Western Hemisphere manager Juan Gonzalez met with Guyanese authorities to improve defence capabilities.
