What changes the hatred speech bill?
The Amendment of the Criminal Code, called the hatred speech Act, introduces rules governing the fight against hatred speech and importantly expands the catalogue of protected features, now including age, gender, disability and sexual orientation (except for previously protected: national, ethnic, racial, spiritual and non-denominational).

This means that hate crimes against these qualities will be prosecuted ex officio, without having to file a private indictment.
According to the laws adopted: for the usage of force or illegal threats from motives of hatred, there will be up to 5 years imprisonment, for incitement to hatred – up to 3 years, for insulting – up to 2 years in prison.
This is simply a consequence to global recommendations on the prevention of hatred crimes. The Justice hotel states that although their number has fallen in fresh years, 761 cases of specified acts were inactive reported in 2024.
