The Vatican announced on Tuesday a doctrinal note of the Dicastery of the Doctrine of Faith, in which it defines what titles can be called Mary in the context of her cooperation in the work of salvation.
According to the “Mater Populi fidelis” (the “Mother of the faithful people”), it is possible to mention to the following terms: Co-emptor, Mediator, parent of the Believers and parent of Grace.
The document, approved by Pope Leon XIV, answers many questions addressed to the Holy See in fresh decades. As has been stressed, these issues have for years awakened the reflection of successive popes and theologians.
The aim of the note is to deepen the appropriate foundations of Marian worship. "It is not about correcting the piety of the faithful, who find refuge, strength, tenderness and hope in Mary, but about its appreciation and promotion," the paper states. spiritual piety is defined as “the treasure of the Church.”
