German Defence Minister Boris Pistorius has decided to form another training battalion of the Air Force (Luftwaffe). The fresh unit will be located in Fürstenfeldbruck in Bavaria. As the German national Ministry of Defence (German: Bundesministerium der Verteidigung, BMVg) emphasises, this step is simply a direct consequence to the increasing number of recruits and the implementation of the fresh military service strategy (German: Neuer Wehrdienst), which requires an urgent and crucial increase in the training capacity of the Bundeswehr.
