President Andrzej Duda assessed on Thursday that Poland suffered the most painful failure in fresh past on April 10, 2010. He emphasized that respect and gratitude for the attitude of those who died in the Smolensk disaster "is and will stay a measurement of respect for ourselves as citizens and patriots."

He stressed that on the 15th anniversary of this tragedy Poles join together in the reflection and prayer. "We remember. We pay tribute. respect for them and gratitude for their attitude, dedication and contribution to the improvement of the Republic is and will stay a measurement of respect for ourselves – as citizens and patriots. April 10 marks the 15th anniversary of the Smolensk disaster. On that day in 2010, 96 people died in the Tu-154M plane crash close Smolensk, among them: president Lech Kaczyński with his wife Maria, last president of Poland in exile Ryszard Kaczorowski and another personalities. The Polish delegation went on to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the Katyn crime.
