MON begins cooperation with the National Defence League

Joint efforts to advance defence cognition in society and make skills applicable for the safety of the state – these are the establishment of an agreement that was concluded present between the Ministry of Defence and the National Defence League. The ceremony took place during the Kielce MSPO arms fair.

– State resilience is based on a strong society. There is no construction of a safe Poland without the strength of the Polish society – said Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz after signing an agreement with LOK. The head of the MON stressed that strong structures in all voivodships and modern shooting ranges are a large asset of the National Defence League, which are already being utilized by soldiers and civilians who want to improve their skills. As part of the agreement, partners will support theoretical and applicable activities primarily in uniform classes and military preparation units with a cyber profile.

– Not everyone will be a soldier of the Polish Army, but everyone is called to defend the homeland, to guarantee its safety," the head of the MON pointed out. He besides stressed that the cooperation initiated present is not a political, but a patriotic programme. “I think anyone can sign it, regardless of their views or beliefs. We have 1 common home – Poland. We will either cooperate, strengthening the safety and strength of our country, or we will face hard and dangerous challenges," he concluded.

The president of LOK, Jerzy Jan Salamuch, besides spoke. We are an organization with a rich tradition. Last year we celebrated our 80th anniversary. We have always worked together and worked for the defence of the country. We presently have 23 000 members, including 18 000 in reserve soldiers, gunmen and youth defence clubs," he said. He added that the strength and possible of LOK were strengthened by experienced trainers and instructors who collaborated with the association.
