Since early January 2026, the Ministry of abroad Affairs has introduced crucial increases in consular fees. This includes passports for which we will pay more. Changes besides concern visa matters. We know fresh stakes.

Consular fees are going up. This is explained by the fact that the rates have not been changed in years. "The existing consular charges in most cases remained unchanged for about 10 years, and any of them – since 2013. During this time, labour costs, inflation levels and the operating costs of offices, including services and shipments, have increased significantly," states the Ministry of abroad Affairs.

Changes in rates in consulates

This in practice means an increase in prices by about 20-25 percent. For example, the issue of the passport has so far cost EUR 110, and from 1 January it will should be worth EUR 140. It is worth noting that price increases concern consular charges. It's not about cases where we go to the provincial office to make specified a document.

Now we will pay 50 euros for the temporary passport in consulates. There were besides 2 fresh items in the toll table:

issue of a temporary passport outside office hours – EUR 100,

issue of a temporary passport on a day off – EUR 200.

If we want to receive a second specified document, we will gotta pay EUR 280 (earlier it was EUR 220). For the adoption and examination of the application for a national visa, there is simply a cost of EUR 200.

EUR 90 is now a fee for reconsidering a Schengen visa application (codified in accordance with the provisions of the Community Visa Code). The amendment for the issue of the EU temporary travel paper was besides noted: now – EUR 50 – EUR 40. Moreover, the rate for drawing up a notarial act increased from EUR 60 to EUR 80.
