Negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Hamas movement on hostages held in Gaza broke down on Saturday due to the issue of women's release – reported American tv CNN, citing a origin acquainted with conversations.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had previously ordered the withdrawal of negotiators from the Mossad intelligence agency of Qatar, as talks on ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in exchange for the release of hostages were placed in an "impasse".

The Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip freed all women and children who were hostages to the Gaza Strip movement – said Al Jazeera tv deputy chief of Hamas's political office Saleh al-Arouri.
"The business (Israel – ed.) claims that many women and children are inactive being held hostage by us, but we said they were not there. We exchanged the women and children we had. If there are cases, we do not know about them or we could not scope them," al-Arouri said.
He said that the hostages remaining in Hamas' hands were Israeli soldiers and men who had previously served in the Israeli army. He added that "there will be no negotiations on their release until the aggression on the Gaza Strip ceases".
The truce between Israel and Hamas expired on Friday morning, and its extension was not officially announced. The Israeli Defence Force (IDF) said the Palestinian Hamas movement broke a break in the war effort and opened fire on Israeli territory, and the Israeli military resumed the fight against the Palestinian movement in the Gaza Strip.
