The Israeli government has approved an agreement with Hamas on a ceasefire and the release of hostages in the Gaza Strip, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's office said. The agreement, concluded with the participation of Egypt, Qatar and the U.S., which was announced on January 15, is scheduled to enter into force on Sunday at 8:30 a.m. local time and provides for a six-week ceasefire and a gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces from the Gaza Strip.
