The government is giving banks access to photos from Poles' ID cards. Why?

The Council of Ministers has adopted a draft law that will simplify access to data from state registers, informs the Ministry of Digital Affairs. Banks will receive access to a photograph of a person's face from the individual Identity Card Register. Thanks to this, they will be able to verify whether the individual showing the card is its owner.
