The French will make a "digital" VBCI

The improvement of a digital model of the French APC is intended to facilitate its servicing, but besides to undertake appropriate modernization works in the future. This will be the first task of this kind to make a digital equivalent of the vehicle utilized by the French army. All this as part of the NumCo program aimed at improving the operational process not only of VBCI, but over time besides of another vehicles that will have a digital equivalent. Work on it is expected to last 2 years based on the existing experience and capabilities of KNDS Nexter and Arquus in terms of modeling and simulation. After completing this stage, the demonstrator will be improved for the next 2 years on the basis of 20 VBCI vehicles equipped with appropriate diagnostic sensors (HUMS). However, it cannot be ruled out that in order to collect a better database, a decision will be made to increase the pool of tested vehicles (up to 40 cars).
