Record price and fast start sales

Chinese company Noetix Robotics (also known as SongYan Power) officially started pre-sale of her latest humanoid robot "Xiao Bu Mi" on the JD.com platform. The product is offered at a price of 9 998 RMB (about $1 380), making it the world's first humanoid robot available below the threshold of 10,000 RMB. On the first day of pre-sale by 16:00 (October 24), more than 300 pre-prime orders were registered.

Two versions are available as part of the pre-sale:

  • EDU (educational) – with transportation scheduled for January 2026,
  • consumer version – with shipping scheduled for March 2026.

Project optimised for children and education

"Xiao Bu Mi" is 94 cm tall and weighs only 12 kg, which allows him to interact naturally with children – among others, thanks to the anticipation of "on an equal" conversation. The robot is equipped with 21 degrees of freedom:

  • 6 in each leg,
  • 4 in each arm,
  • One in the waist.

This enables him to get up after falling, walking, running, dancing, and performing complex movement sequences. It besides supports a graphical programming environment that enables users – especially students – to make their own functions by dragging code blocks.

Technological innovation and cost strategy

The company utilized lightweight composite materials and introduced a advanced degree of own components, which allowed to importantly reduce production costs without giving up the gross margin. Key technologies include:

  • algorithms combining learning by imitation and strengthening learning,
  • its own domain controller,
  • fully located (in the sense of a lock) supply chain.

This approach allows Noetix Robotics to scale production and introduce robots into the mass marketplace – so far reserved for costly investigation or commercial solutions.

Technological and commercial success

Founded in September 2023 in Beijing, Noetix Robotics specializes in embodied AI, robotic bionics, and robot operating systems. In April 2025, her 1.2-metre N2 "Little Mischief" robot won second place in the semi-marathon of humanoid robots in Beijing, which attracted the industry's attention.

By mid-2025, the company had collected over 2,000 commercial orders and the full value of the contracts exceeded RMB 100 million. Most of the orders come from sectors of education, science, cultural tourism and entertainment. According to the company's data, orders from the technological and educational section account for more than 50% of the total.

Education as a key market

“Xiao Bu Mi” is not only a consumer device – it is an educational platform. The company cooperates with schools, including the advanced School at Tsinghua University, where robots execute the function of conducting physical exercises and assistants in AI classes. It is besides planned to open a joint laboratory of Embossed Intelligence at the school laboratory “Boeing”.

In the future, the company intends to make an ecosystem that includes consumer, educational and light commercial applications, while at the same time expanding its offer to include N, Hobbs and mobile platforms.

Price depression trend on the humanoid market

Noetix Robotics operates in the context of a wider trend: over the last six months, companies specified as UBtech, Zhiyuan Robotics or Unitree (Yushu Robotics) have announced that crucial orders have been received and that commercialisation has progressed. As the supply chain for humanoids matures and production becomes more efficient, prices fall, which accelerates the entry of this technology into everyday use.

"Xiao Bu Mi" can be the first step towards democratization of humanoid robotics – not only as a toy or gadget, but as an educational and creative tool for fresh generations.
