The aim of the competition is to separate organisations that systematically implement equality policies and build a work culture based on equal opportunities – in the areas of policies and mechanisms for equality, improvement and training, wages, work-home balance and health.
This year's edition took place at a peculiar minute in the context of the implementation of the EU Directive on transparency of wages. Equality ceases to be only part of the ESG strategy and becomes a legal work and 1 of the foundations of liable management.

Ambassador for Balance and Leadership
For the first time in the past of the competition, an individual award was awarded to the Balance Ambassador. The winner was given a voucher to attend the Henryka Bochniarz Academy of Leadership.
Dr. Henryk Bochniarz, president of the Confederate Leviathan and associate of the Jury of the competition, stressed:
Permanent changes in organisations are always supported by circumstantial individuals who have the courage to initiate actions and consistently build fresh standards. The category of Balance Ambassador was created just to appreciate specified an individual act. The winner receives an invitation to participate in the Henryka Bochniarz Academy of Leadership, which I have been creating for years with a view to strengthening women in decision-making roles. I believe that investing in the improvement of women's leadership is 1 of the most effective ways of building strong organisations and a liable labour market.


During the beginning of the event, Małgorzata Mroczkowska-Horne, Director-General of the Confederation of Leviathan, stressed the importance of equality as a basic standard of functioning of the organisation and the labour market.
Equality becomes not only an component of the ESG strategy, but besides a regulatory standard", said Małgorzata Mroczkowska-Horne.

Debate on practice, not declarations
The final was accompanied by the debate "Equipment at Work. Between the market, law and social responsibility". The panelists, representatives of the awarded organisations, shared experience with the implementation of sex equality plans, monitoring the pay gap, building anti-discrimination mechanisms and promoting the well-being of workers.
The discussion showed that effective equality actions are not based on declarations but on circumstantial decisions and consistent leadership. In many cases, organisations are ahead of regulation, treating equality as part of a long-term management strategy.

Balance symbol
An integral part of the competition is the statue – a sculpture inspired by the logotype of the initiative. all year it is written by another Polish artist, which is simply a conscious mention to the request to strengthen the visibility of women besides in the planet of art.
In this year's edition, the statue was created by Grażyna Marczyk – an interdisciplinary artist whose works are a communicative about the pursuit of balance between substance and impressed, construction and gesture. Symbolic sculpture emphasizes the thought of the competition – balance is simply a process that requires informed decisions and consequences.
“Equipment. The Women's Company of the Year remains a platform for business cooperation, social organisations and expert communities to build a labour marketplace based on real, not declarative standards of equality.

About the competition
Although women are better educated (diploma from administration or business has 68.2% women and 31.8% men), the CEOs of listed companies are only 4.3%. Disproportion is surprising, so Kulczyk Foundation, legislature of Women and Confederacy of Leviathan in partnership with Share the Care, Institute for Structural investigation and the Academy of Leadership of Henryka Bochniarz For the 3rd time, they have organised a competition to reward organisations that strive to balance regardless of gender. In the initiative, as a discrimination of the best, it is about building and spreading awareness of: policies and mechanisms for equality, improvement and training, wages, work-home balance, health. These are 5 key areas in the competition. They have been mapped to reflect issues where sex inequality is the most visible.
