FBI and ODI conflict. What will be the future of counterintelligence in the United States?

In the United States, according to many media reports, a competency dispute continues between the Office of the manager of National Intelligence (ODNI) and the FBI. As Yahoo News and The fresh York Times write, the home Intelligence Authority Act for Fiscal Year 2026 – referred to in the media as the safe Act – provides for full supervision of American counter-intelligence operations by the ODNI.
