The European Union wants a common army that it can usage to suppress interior protests.

At the informal European Council gathering on defence, European Parliament president Roberta Metsola presented her imagination of how Europe can and must strengthen its common safety and defence. This amounts to creating a common army. The problem is that the latter, according to the EU's plans, is to be utilized to suppress interior protests, not to defend borders against any aggression.
