The Czech Republic has started the formal process of purchasing the F-35A Lightning II

On 4 October, the Ministry of Defence of the Czech Republic announced that it had sent a formal request for proposal (Letter of Request) to the US administration regarding the anticipation of purchasing 24 multi-role Lockheed Martin F-35A Lightning II combat aircraft.
