A contractor for the crime victims whose construction is financed by Ziobro arrested

Fr Michał Olszewski, a erstwhile exorcist from the Profeto Foundation, known for his eccentric methods of expelling Satan with salceson, presides over the task of building a centre for victims of crimes for the amount of PLN 43 million, coming from the Minister of Justice, Zbigniew Ziobry. However, the CEO of Tiso, who until late served as the general contractor for this investment, was arrested.

Information on this controversial event was provided by Citizen Coalition MP Krzysztof Brejza, on social networking site X (formerly known as Twitter). Piotr W., the owner of the Tiso company liable for the construction of the centre on the outskirts of Warsaw, was to be arrested on charges of financial embezzlement related to this circumstantial undertaking.

The territory Court in Warsaw confirmed that Piotr W. was detained. In addition, on 6 June 2023 the court decided to extend the detention period for another 3 months.

According to Brejza's findings, Tiso's actions in the context of payments attracted the attention of officials of the Łódź Customs and taxation Office. This situation sheds additional light on the controversy surrounding the task of a centre for crime victims supported by the Profeto Foundation.

“To my knowledge, Tiso failed to comply with the agreement. There is suspicion of fictitious services and money being taken from the Justice Fund" – informed Brejz. Irregularities are expected to scope PLN 9 million.

The Profeto Foundation powerfully denies that the arrest is related to the process of building their centre. She emphasises that since May 2022 she has no longer been cooperating with Tiso and has already chosen a fresh contractor.

History related to the Profeto Foundation, founded by the Order of Hearts and directed by the priest Michał Olszewski, began in 2020 erstwhile it received PLN 43 million from the Justice Fund for the construction of a therapeutic centre for victims of crime. It was previously revealed that the foundation had won this contract despite deficiency of experience in this area and infrastructure. Moreover, the plans of the building include recording studios, directors and servers. The foundation answered that victims of force would usage it to evidence their records as part of innovative therapy.

Tiso was to be liable for erecting a building for the Profeto Foundation, in accordance with the agreement worth PLN 25.1 million signed in 2020 with hearts.

The implementation of the task delayed the difficulty of obtaining a construction permit. Officials from the Wilanów district, where the facility was planned to be built, refused to grant permission, considering the task to be burdened with serious errors. In the end, support was given by the Mazovian politician Constanty Radziwił from the Law and Justice party. As a consequence of these actions, the prosecution launched an investigation into officials from Wilanów, accusing them of alleged abuse of power.

The DA's hiding the truth?

Krzysztof Brejza, who investigated the case, maintains that the arrest is linked to the task of the centre built by Profeto. He besides argues that the prosecutor's office under Zbigniew Ziobrze was pressuring the employees of the Łódź IRS.

"Treaty officials, suspecting who the case is, carried out the actions themselves and the prosecution was informed after the fact – that no 1 should halt the action against Tiso. Officials knew that if they'd reported the case to the D.A.'s office, it would've been a mess. That is why they have followed the STIR procedure, which provides that it first blocks bank accounts and only later results in the inclusion of the prosecution in the case", Brejza reports.

"After the operation of the Łódź IRS, telephones from above rang – from the government and the National Prosecutor's Office. There were very unnatural movements around the matter," he adds.

The associate referred inquiries to the National Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Justice concerning possible attempts to influence the preparatory and administrative processes related to the construction of the Profeto centre. The motivation for this action justifies the fact that the Justice Fund, controlled by Zbigniew Ziobra, financed the construction project, and Fr Michał Olszewski, the leader of the foundation, was friends of erstwhile Minister Ziobry. In addition, Olszewski's brother, Grzegorz, became president of Alior Bank in 2021, which may be related to the influences of Sovereign Poland.

Unofficial information suggests that the dismissal of the chief of the Łódź IRS in February 2022, only 4 days after its appointment, may have been due to the engagement of the office in an investigation into irregularities related to Tiso. The MP asked the Minister of Finance, Magdalena Rodzikowska, if individual from Solidarne Polska tried to influence her decision to dismiss the warden.

The Profeto Centre, entitled ‘Archipelago – islands free of violence’, is inactive not ready, which raises doubts about the anticipation of launching it in the next six months. The competition, which the Profeto Foundation won in 2020, envisaged moving the centre by the end of 2024, after which the foundation would have the freedom to dispose of the property. For the moment, Profeto makes videos of the advancement of work on her YouTube channel, and Vice-President Ewelina Zamojska-Banaszczyk assures that the building will shortly service victims of crime.

It is worth recalling that the funds from the Justice Fund were to be utilized for "supporting and developing the organization aid strategy for victims" between 2020 and 2024. The winners of the competition were to make a Network to aid Persons with Harmful Crime – Specialist Support Centers.

Organisations whose applications were not included in the competition, including the We Give Children Force Foundation, raised concerns about the deficiency of transparency of competition rules. They presented ready-made venues for victims and qualified staff. In contrast, the Profeto Foundation, as the only winner of the competition, had neither the building nor even the required building permit.

“Profeto presented the best offer and so received funding. Angrily and hideous attacks on them or on the fund just due to the fact that the initiative is conducted by a clergyman, I leave my opinion to readers," he commented. in an interview with “DGP” Deputy Minister of Justice Marcin Romanowski, who supervised the Justice Fund on behalf of Ziobra.
