The Church appeals to the believers. It's the presidential election

The Council of the Polish Conference of the Polish Episcopal for Social Affairs called on the faithful to attend this year's presidential elections. Church representatives besides recalled the principles that they should follow.

The Council of the Polish Episcopal Conference on Social Affairs recalled that the presidential election "is a civic and moral duty". The Communication adds that Catholics should "be guided by principles that make social life dignified and happy."

At the same time, the following part of the Communication points out that St. John Paul II in the encyclical "Centesimus Annus" pointed to the importance of the dignity of the human individual "as the foundation of democracy".

Church Helps in Choice

The Council of the CEP on Social Affairs even prepared a peculiar election Vademecum of a Catholic, whose aim is to aid in choosing who to vote for. The paper is available at the Polish Episcopal Conference.

Among another things, there are guidelines based on teaching the Church. Bishop Marian Florczyk, president of the Council, emphasises that participation in elections is not only a civic work but besides a moral commitment.
