In fresh days, the Polish political scene has been curious in the case of Mr Lukasz Meyza and his partner, who reported to the police common notices after the fight that took place in late February. The police conducted an intervention, and the materials went to the D.A.'s office, which decided to carry out further checks.
According to the findings of the tvn24.pl portal, there was a sharp exchange between Łukasz Meyza and his partner. After the dispute, the female was to leave an MP at a gas station in Lubusz Voivodeship. Then both sides reported to the police. Meyza explained in an interview with the portal poscigi.pl that there was a tiny disagreement between him and his partner, but everything within the limits of a healthy home fire.
Mariola Wojciechowska-Grześkowiak, the press spokesperson of the territory Attorney's Office in Gorzów Wielkopolski, confirmed that the officers received reports from both sides of the conflict. A female claimed that her immunity was breached during a car fight. Police besides investigated whether Mezza's behaviour could put a female and children travelling in a car in danger.
The MP reported that his partner was driving under the influence of alcohol. The police conducted a sobriety check that showed that the female was sober. Initially, the police decided to drop the case without uncovering any basis for further action. However, the prosecutor's office in Inter-law decided to reexamine the circumstances of the incident.
The materials were sent to the D.A.'s office, but the territory lawyer in Międzyrzeń did not approve the decision to decommission and ordered further verifications. The prosecutor's office is presently analyzing the applications and planning further hearings. Luke Meiza claims that the situation does not require further explanation.
In the midst of unnecessary emotions, my partner made a call to the police, from which she immediately wanted to withdraw, and she apologized to me for that," said the MP quoted by TVN24. There's no further timeline. A simple argument," he added.
In this case, the D.A. and the police must keep objectivity and carefully analyse the circumstances of the incidental in order to make the right decision. According to data from the Central Statistical Office, in 2020 more than 120 000 cases of home force were recorded in Poland. In the same year, police initiated more than 30,000 criminal proceedings in connection with home violence.
It is worth noting that household force is not only a problem for women, but besides for men and children. According to a study by the United Nations, more than 300 000 cases of home force were recorded worldwide in 2019.
This is why it is so crucial that the community and state institutions are delicate to household force and offer assistance and support to victims. In Poland there are many organizations and institutions that deal with the prevention of force in the family, specified as the Foundation against force in the household or the Polish Psychiatric Society.
It is besides worth noting that household force can have long lasting effects on the intellectual and physical wellness of victims. It is so so crucial that victims of home force receive the right assistance and support to overcome trauma and rebuild their lives.
