On Sunday the Border defender stopped respective illegal migrants and persons who transported them at the Polish-Lithuanian border. The detainees included citizens of Tajikistan, Syria, Somalia and Sudan. Couriers are mainly citizens of the Baltic States.
Police reported that Tajikistan citizens were in Poland illegally and were transferred to Border Guards. The officers carried out activities in cooperation with local services.
On Sunday, Border defender officers together with the Elk police detained a female carrying 2 illegal migrants on the Polish-Lithuanian border. According to the SG, the detained Latvian stateless individual with a Lithuanian residence title.
Charges for organising illegal border crossing
The female migrants are Syrian citizens. «Women will be charged with organising illegal border crossing. Migrants will be handed over to the Lithuanian side» - wrote on platform X Border Guard.
In the morning press spokesperson of the Ministry of Interior and Administration Jacek Dobrzyński informed about another detention. 3 couriers carrying 4 illegal migrants stopped at the Polish-Lithuanian border.
Latvians transported African citizens
The couriers are Latvian citizens and the migrants carried are 3 Somalis and 1 Sudanese citizen. All persons were detained during border checks.
Controls at the border with Lithuania returned on 7 July and are carried out by the Podlaskie Border defender Branch. The SG conducts them in cooperation with the police and the 1st Podlasie Territorial Defence Brigade.
13 control points at a 104-kilometre limit
The border with Lithuania is 104 km long and checks are carried out in a full of 13 locations. 3 of them are border crossings - road crossings in Budzsko and Gardens and railway crossings in Trakiszki, where inspections are carried out 24/7.
