"It is not actual that we should block humanitarian or military transport, we are only blocking commercial carriers," stated 1 of the protest organizers at border crossing points with Ukraine, Kamil Ambroziak in Conversation at noon at RMF FM and RMF24.
He is demanding to reconstruct the permits for Ukrainian companies to transport goods to Poland. And despite the talks planned present in Lublin between government representatives and protesters, it does not believe that the government will come to their aid. He points out that protesters support Ukraine and want the Ukrainians to win the war.
A associate of the board of the Committee for the Defence of Employers and Transport Carriers in a conversation with Piotr Salak denied that protesters at border crossing points in Hrebenn or Dorohusk do not pass humanitarian transport. On the Polish-Ukrainian border, the protest of carriers causes long queues. For 4 days now, any border crossings have been blocked by protesting Polish carriers who want to reconstruct permits for Ukrainian companies. You've been waiting for a briefing all day. In Hrebenn, the estimated time is 137 hours. Yesterday was 90 hours and 900 tires.
"This is not true. On the contrary. We support, aid Ukraine, do not block any humanitarian, military transports. They freely pass (protest – RMF FM) and enter the border freely," said Ambroziak. "They must not pass through average commercial transports... Passenger cars, coaches go in line. We don't keep it. We keep regular commercial transports," he added.
He recalled that he and another protesters are demanding that permits for Ukrainian companies be reinstated. "So far there are no permits, since the war they have been abolished. Before the war it was 180 1000 for Ukraine, 180 1000 permits for Poland (...) This year, Ukrainian transport has already carried out 900 000 transports," he said. "We want permits and for these permits to be commercial transports, and as far as humanitarian and military transports are concerned, we want them to go without queues, as so far" - explained the guest at the RMF FM and Radio RMF24.
"We want nothing from Ukraine, we want fair treatment. We want our government to introduce permits to revoke licenses that have been issued for east capital, which it founded in Poland. Not only do they destabilize us from the inside. And we are incapable to compete with them" – Ambroziak explained the reasons for the protest.
The guest of RMF FM and Radio RMF24 said that on Thursday in Lublin there were to be talks of carriers with a typical of the government. "We don't know where this is going due to the fact that we've already had these conversations with them. We've been to Warsaw respective times, we've been to protests, we've been to them under the ministry. They did not scope out to us," he criticized the rulers.
He denied that the protest would be suspended while talking to the government. “We are moving on. The representatives are on the phone, the remainder of them are working at the borders until they meet our demands, that is: retaining the licence with east capital, introducing permits of 180 000 for each party, as it was before the war for commercial transport. Regarding queues, Ukrainians accuse us that we do not let cars in, but our cars, on the Ukrainian side, in their electronic queue, stand after 10-12 days, and there they do not see a problem, they just see a problem on our side" - he highlighted the situation on the east border of Poland Ambroziak.
"We've been talking to them for a year and there's nothing we can do. They always deceive us, they keep telling us that they are working, they are blocking the EU, and in fact, if they wanted to help, they would help," Peter Salak heard from his guest. "I call on all carriers in Poland to support us, due to the fact that this concerns the full of Poland, erstwhile it comes to Ukraine, which enters Poland with capital and takes our jobs" added Ambroziak. According to him, “about 40% of the rolling stock of carriers on the east wall is already standing. Drivers were slowed down, cars were deregistered. There is no job.’
