The Americans promise, the Chinese deliver: who will win the war on humanoid robots?

Thus, Chinese robots do not learn in sterile laboratories, but in noisy, unpredictable mill halls, generating priceless data needed to train AI models.

Despite these advantages, the Chinese themselves approach the subject with a large deal of caution. Experts point to the inactive weak ability of machines to adapt in new, unstructured environments. Moreover, at the current cost of half a million yuan per device and the estimated five-year return on investment, the economical sense of replacing human labour with robots in many industries remains debateable. It is this paradox that defines the current phase of the revolution: while Americans are afraid that China is moving besides fast, the Chinese themselves are inactive reasoning about whether the chosen way will yet lead them to their goal.
