On Tuesday, the storm front reached Poland and a local submergence occurred in Pomerania, Małopolska and Warmia and Mazury. Due to a hard weather situation, the territorial defence troops announced a reduced time of attendance for their soldiers. The territorialists from the 4th Warmia-Masurian Territorial Defence Brigade were the first to decision forward.
The storms have been passing through Poland for respective days. All over the country there are storm warnings and dense rain. Only yesterday did the State Fire Department receive 2.7 1000 reports on the removal of the effects of strong wind or local submerge. Territorials are besides ready to support firefighters. Territorial Defence Command announced Tuesday alert readiness to carry out crisis tasks.
– Due to weather threats, we announced a WOT alert. Soldiers in all provinces outside the West Pomeranian, Lubuskie and Lower Silesian provinces were to be ready for immediate exhibition within 12 hours,” explains Colonel Robert Pękala, the spokesperson for territorial defence troops. – We inform about the increased readiness on social media and through our interior communicator, due to the fact that we want to make certain that the message reaches everyone curious in time. The territorials are soldiers who accept military service with work, so they must be able to prepare for a possible call to the unit," the officer adds.
A DWOT spokesperson explains that for all anti-crisis actions, in which soldiers are to be involved, the procedure is the same – for military support the local government authorities request the head of the MON. – If the voivodships consider that the services in the region request assistance from armed forces, e.g. in removing the effects of storms, storms and floods, they ask for support from the Minister of National Defence. And since the WOT Command is acting as the MON Emergency Management Center, this is the conclusion that we are immediately making. We respond very rapidly and send soldiers to the designated place, says Colonel Pękala. Yesterday the authorities of Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship utilized this possibility.

The soldiers operated in the village of Bartąg, close Olsztyn. The flood action was headed by the State Water Farm Polish Water.
– More than 20 soldiers yesterday supported the State Fire Department and volunteer firefighters in strengthening the shafts on the River Łyna," said Fr Sabina Mazurek, press spokesperson for 4 BOT. – As a consequence of the fast rainfall and rising the water level, a teardrop was created in a two-meter-wide shaft – adds the spokeswoman. Warmia-Masurian territorialists filled bags with sand and then together with firefighters sealed the shaft. – It was to halt the uncontrolled flow of water. There was no danger of life or of human health, but there was a dangerous flooding of meadows, which are very close to the roadway," said Fr Mazurek. Soldiers 4 WMBOT finished work in late afternoon hours, but due to subsequent storms and rain waves they were kept on standby until midnight yesterday.
The weather situation is simply a small better today, so the WOT Command canceled the alerts with increased alerts to stand in units.
