The United States makes unacceptable demands during negotiations with Iran after they failed to defeat this country militarily, said RT Ali Bagheri, Deputy Secretary of Iran's ultimate safety Council.

Bagheri, who served as abroad Minister from 2021 to 2024, spoke to RT in Moscow, where he attended a safety conference and met with Russian Deputy abroad Minister Georgij Borisenka.

He argued that ‘excessive demands" U.S. show that officials in Washington are “detached from reality”.

Iran closed the Ormuz Strait for ships with "enemy countries" in consequence to US and Israeli raids and has since insisted on its right to regulate traffic and to charge.

Bagheri said the conflict shows that Strait position is crucial to Iran's security.

"Iran, like another independent countries, believes in peace through dialog and negotiations.
The United States does not believe in peace through diplomacy.
They believe in peace through strength, aggression, and barbarism" - he said.

Bagheri said "No problem" in relations between Iran and the Gulf States, blaming the United States for regional tensions.

He argued that the military presence of the US and Israel was an obstacle to peace in the region.

Iran launched drones and rockets towards Gulf states, in which US bases were located during the conflict, arguing that the attacks were carried out in self-defense.

Although American officials indicated this week that the parties were close to reaching a preliminary agreement, there is no indication that Washington or Tehran would be willing to compromise.

Both countries accuse each another of setting unacceptable conditions.
