"I received a study from Operation Commander of the Armed Forces Types about shooting down drones that entered our airspace and could pose a threat. The operation continues," wrote Donald Tusk on the X platform.
The Prime Minister besides stated that he remained in contact with NATO. "I informed the Secretary-General of NATO about the current situation and the actions we have taken towards the objects that have violated our airspace. We are in constant contact," he added.
Let us remind that at night, the Operations Command of the Russian Federation issued an emergency message: "Attention, during today's attack of the Russian Federation executing an impact on objects located in the territory of Ukraine, our airspace has been repeatedly breached by drone-type objects".
"An ongoing operation to identify and neutralize objects. At the command of the Operational Commander of the RSZ, weapons were utilized and service operations were ongoing to find the shot down objects," added.
And it was appealed: "We emphasise that the military is inactive in operation and we call for the remaining homes. The most threatened areas are Podlaskie, Mazowieckie and Lubline voivodships. The Operational Command of the RSZ monitors the current situation, and the subordinate forces and resources stay in full readiness for immediate response".
On Wednesday morning, DORSZ issued another crucial post: "As a consequence of today's attack by the Russian Federation in the territory of Ukraine, there was unprecedented in the scale of the invasion of the Polish airspace by drone-type objects. This is an act of aggression that has created a real threat to the safety of our citizens. At the command of the Operational Commander of the RFA, defensive procedures were immediately launched" – indicated.
"Polish and allied measures have observed radiolocations of respective objects, and against those likely to constitute a threat, the Operational Commander of the RSZ made decisions about neutralising them. Part of the drones that entered our airspace have been shot down. The search and location of possible falls of these objects continues. The Operational Command of the RSZ monitors the current situation, and Polish and allied forces and resources stay in full readiness to proceed their activities" - the latest announcement concludes.
