On 24 March 2026, the conference “YAK for Life – Power of Motherhood” organized on the occasion of the National Day of Life will be held in the Polish Parliament building in Warsaw. The event will bring together representatives of the planet of science, politics and social organisations who will jointly reflect on the importance of motherhood in modern society and on the request for real support.
The meeting, which will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., is organised by the Parliamentary Life and household squad and the Coalition for Life and Family. The conference will be chaired by Lidia Sankowska-Grabczuk. 1 message will be at the heart of the event – motherhood is simply a immense social force that shapes both the improvement of women and the future of society as a whole.
Motherhood as a Force That Builds a Society
Organizers point out that modern culture frequently ignores or diminishes the importance of motherhood. The pressures of fast life, social expectations and media communications make many women postpone or quit the decision on motherhood, not full recognizing the possible it has in itself.
Meanwhile, the experience of being a parent develops man on many levels: emotional, social and intellectual. It awakens in women talents, predispositions, and organizational abilities that have frequently previously remained dormant. Motherhood is not just a biological function or a set of regular responsibilities, it is an experience that shapes character, strengthens work and builds bonds that are the foundation of social life.
The tremendous but frequently overlooked value of the work done by women at home was besides pointed out by economist Gary Becker, Nobel Prize laureate. In his research, he showed that home work accounts for up to 30 percent of national income, although it remains outside authoritative economical statistics. It is in the household space that the key features for the functioning of society make – cooperation, responsibility, concern for others or ability to manage many tasks simultaneously.
Statements by experts and parent certificates
The programme of the conference includes contributions from experts representing different fields, from demography and psychology to theology and household learning. Mr Agata Wojtyszek will open the meeting. Speakers will include Barbara Socha, an advisor to the president of Poland, who will discuss the relation between demography and discourage women from motherhood, as well as Karina Bosak, who will examine the media image of motherhood and bring it together with reality.
The spiritual and intellectual dimension of motherhood will be discussed by Prof. Dorota Kornas-Biela and Prof. Elżbieta Osewska, longtime president of the Polish household Life Association. In turn Dr. Ewa Ślizuń-Kuczapska will present conclusions from an global conference in Rome devoted to the alleged genius of motherhood.
An crucial part of the gathering will besides be a block of women's testimonies, which will tell about the individual experience of motherhood and its impact on household and social life.

Voice of the Polish Association of Life Defenders
One of the crucial points of the program will be the speech by Magdalena Guziak-Nowak, manager of Education and Secretary of the Board of the Polish Association of Human Life Defenders, who will present the topic: “Mom, you are not alone – a form of support at various stages of motherhood”.
Magdalena Guziak-Nowak has been stressing for years that actions to defend the lives of all man should go hand in hand with concrete assistance for women and families who face hard life situations. peculiar attention should be paid to supporting single mothers who request aid on their way to autonomy and stability, women raising children with disabilities. As she points out, real concern for life is expressed not only in declarations, but above all in the creation of real support opportunities – so that no female feels left alone against the challenges of motherhood.
Her speech will focus on circumstantial forms of assistance for women and families, from support during pregnancy, aid for young mothers, mothers raising children with disabilities to actions aimed at families raising more children. Magdalena Guziak-Nowak points out that motherhood frequently takes courage, and women should feel that they are not alone in the challenges of raising a child.
Magdalena Guziak-Nowak always stresses the importance of building a culture of respect for human life and creating a space in which women can carry out their vocation to motherhood without force and without fear for the future.
National Day of Life – Time of reflection and Action
The conference will take place on a peculiar day. National Day of Life was established by the Polish Parliament as a minute of reflection on the work of the state, society and public opinion for protecting human life – especially those most vulnerable.
The setting up of this vacation stressed that on 24 March it should besides be an incentive for social solidarity and support for families.
The conference organisers emphasize that in the face of demographic challenges, Poland needs a broad debate on motherhood, household and conditions that advance the upbringing of children.
This is why the event in the Sejm is to be not only a gathering of experts, but besides an impulse to launch a larger social run showing the actual value of motherhood. As the subject of the conference indicates, the power of motherhood does not end on the walls of the house. It's a force that builds the future of society as a whole.
