President Andrzej Duda posted an entry on social media Friday evening in which he addressed Prime Minister Donald Tusk.

"Mr Tusk has been very fond of boasting about protecting the border lately. But only the east 1 – that is, the 1 that we strengthened before despite his protests and attacks of PO politicians," he wrote.
"Now my written questions about the western border and the threat of bringing illegal migrants from Germany to Poland are very upset by the Prime Minister. Is it due to the fact that it must carry out the 'secret plan' of Berlin, which Germany itself writes about?" the president asked.

The entry was accompanied by a link to the material published on the website of the German paper "Welt", which revealed that CDU leader Friedrich Merz was to work with neighbouring countries on a "secret plan" for the return of asylum seekers at the border.

Mr Szymon Szymon Szynkowski, a.k. Sęk, besides commented on the issue, which stated that "in the material, it is pointed out that F. Merz, advocates sending migrants outside the German border besides without the consent of neighbouring countries".
"Absolutely there must not be consent to 'secret arrangements' hitting the Polish interest, we will item all aspect of the case and express strong opposition to specified actions," he added.
Four questions from the president to the Prime Minister
President Andrzej Duda signed an amendment to the regulation of the right to asylum on Wednesday – previously representatives of the government, including Prime Minister Donald Tusk, reiterated their appeal to the president to sign it.

The president besides sent a letter to the Prime Minister on the protection of the country's borders, including the western border. In his letter, the president asked the Prime Minister 4 questions, among others, about the transfer of migrants to Poland by the German authorities, the implementation of the EU migration pact, including the construction of centres of integration of foreigners, and the efforts to get EU support for the protection of the EU's external border. He besides pointed out that the issue of the safety of Polish citizens, the protection of the borders of the Republic, as well as the support of Polish soldiers and officers are priorities of his presidency.
When asked on Thursday if he planned to answer them, the Prime Minister replied that what the president has been doing lately, including his letter, could not say "nothing good", so he would not comment on it. “There are 131 days left and someway we can manage,” he added, referring to the end of Duda’s term.
Amendment of the Asylum Act
The amendment of the law on granting protection to foreigners in the territory of the Republic of Poland, the work on which the parliament concluded on 13 March, states that the government may, at the request of the Minister for Home Affairs, introduce a temporary regulation on the right to apply for global protection, extend this regulation or abolish it. The regulation, under which specified a regulation applies for 60 days at the border with Belarus, entered into force on Thursday.

The duration of the regulation may be extended to a further period – no longer than 60 – after the Sejm has given its consent. The Border defender will, despite restrictions, accept applications for global protection from unaccompanied minors, pregnant women, persons who may require peculiar treatment, especially due to their age or condition.
Social organisations active in assisting refugees were against the rules. In their view, the fresh rules are besides incompatible with the Constitution, and in peculiar Article 56(2) guaranteeing foreigners the anticipation to apply for exile position and with global obligations specified as the 1951 Convention on the position of Refugees.
