A Visit to Kiev
The Pentagon Inspector General's report, based on anonymous reports, describes the controversial behaviour of General Antonio Aguto and was published on the authoritative website of the Office of Inspector General of the Department of Defense.
It describes the general's visit to Kiev as the commander of the SAG-U team, liable for supporting Ukraine. During 1 dinner, the military drank 2 half-litre bottles of strong Georgian chakras and remained intoxicated besides the following day during authoritative meetings, including US Secretary of State Antony Blinken. During his visit to Kiev, the general took with him secret military maps, which were then left on a train in Poland on the way back to the base in German Wiesbaden. Witnesses indicate that the maps were not transported according to the guidelines, and their size did not match the tube used. According to the Pentagon Inspector General's report, the full traveling group was liable for the safe transfer of tubes, and witnesses saw that the tube was brought to the train, but was not unloaded after reaching Poland.
It's not certain who first noticed the deficiency of maps on the train. 1 witness claims the General discovered this after reaching Wiesbaden, although Aguto himself does not remember the details. The tube with maps was recovered immediately after the notification and within 45 minutes returned to the embassy as testified by the general. Although it's not a gene. Antonio Aguto personally left the maps, he assumed work for the full incident. He besides claimed that the consumption of more alcohol than permitted 2 servings was accepted orally by the commander of US Army Europe due to the "cultural importance" of the alcohol at solemn dinners.
The unit commanded by the General since its inception in 2022 was crucial in the supply and coordination of equipment for Ukraine, however, as a consequence of a decision taken at the NATO summit in Washington in 2024, its task was taken over by the Alliance.
