Died 20 years ago, George Kennan was the first American to realize the Cold War. And having understood, he pushed the West on the road through which this war was won. This alone should win him eternal gratitude of Poles. Although it is besides hard to say whether, if all his ideas about our country had been realised, we would have been better or worse.
