“Taiwan does not intend to impose retaliatory duties on the United States,” stated president Lai Qingde of Taiwan on Sunday and announced the introduction of a fresh country’s improvement strategy. This is simply a consequence to Donald Trump's Wednesday decision, which imposed a 32 percent tariff on goods imported from the island.
Lai listed 5 concrete steps that his administration intends to take to improve trading conditions with USA and guarantee ‘Stable economical development’ of Taiwan.

Increasing purchases (including arms) and investment in the US, helping local companies, preparing long-term improvement strategies, establishing a fresh framework for cooperation and more effective support for the private sector have been identified as key pillars of the fresh ruling organization strategy DPP.
