When Donald Trump announced the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company's $100 billion investment in the US, more than 11,000 kilometers from Washington, Taiwan, the temper was far from celebrating. As analysts and any politicians point out, with this transaction Taipei wants to buy into the good graces of the US president.
