Over 400 Świętokrzyskie Territorials for 2 weeks carried out yearly training at the camp in Nowa Dęba. Tactics, shooting, first aid, and cooperation in conditions that are as close as possible to the actual situation of the battlefield – these are key elements of the training program, which was besides attended by passive reserve soldiers.
New Oak, 16–29 March 2026. Over 400 soldiers of the 101st Light Infantry Battalion and companies: bomb squads, logistics and command of the 10th Świętokrzyska Territorial Defence Brigade carried out fourteen-day integrated training at the premises of the Police Training Centre in Nowa Dęba. It is 1 of the key elements of the yearly training cycle of the Territorial Defence Army.
The training was besides attended by nearly 60 soldiers of passive reserve as part of the nationwide program of training of Polish Army reserves. The instructors were soldiers of the school company 10 WBOT. For many reservists it was the first chance in years to put on a uniform and refresh your skills. The program included, among others, tactical, shooting classes, field medical training and familiarization with permanent weapons and equipment. What is passive reserve? It includes persons who have a regulated attitude to military service, who do not execute any another form of service, who are not militarised and under the age of 60 (or 63 in the case of enlisted officers and officers).
Integrated training was a summary of the training stages to date. Soldiers functioned in field conditions – they were accommodated in tents and fed in field conditions in the camp grounds, which allowed the training to be as close as possible to the realities of the modern battlefield.
The programme included a wide scope of modules, including green tactics in unconventional activities. A full programme of full-time weapon shootings – day and night – was besides implemented in accordance with the fresh guidelines. Soldiers were besides trained in the usage of squad weapons, specified as a device gun, an anti-tank grenade launcher, or an election rifle, and besides made grenade throws. Additionally, bomb and chemical training was conducted.
Fourteen days of intensive training in polygonal conditions are comprehensive tests of soldiers' skills and their preparation for action in real combat conditions. This allows us to reliably measure the level of training, as well as to check the procedures for command and consequence to the dynamically changing tactical situation. Field activities, long-term physical and intellectual exertion, and day and night tasks build resilience, work and certainty. This is the foundation of WOT's combat readiness," emphasised Colonel Sławomir Machniewicz, commander of 10 WOT.
Training passive reserve soldiers is not only fulfilling the statutory obligation, but, above all, a real chance to test their training skills. It is besides an chance for “reservists” to learn about changes in the Armed Forces of Poland in fresh years.
Today's Polish Army, including the Territorial Defence Army, is simply a modern and dynamically developing formation in which we place large emphasis on applicable training, cooperation and integration – added the brigade commander.
The passive reserve soldiers have a chance not only to refresh the base of the soldier's craft, but besides to see what the WOT service looks like present – closer to local communities, open and modern. For many of them, this could be the first step towards re-active engagement with the military,” said Lt. Daniel Woś, press officer of 10 WBOT.
Integrated training is 1 of the most crucial forms of training in the Territorial Defence Forces. Each WOT soldier erstwhile a year performs a fourteen-day training ground, which aims to consolidate and make applicable usage of the acquired skills and systematically rise the level of combat readiness.
