Iran's MFA chief Abbas Aragchi told NBC News on Thursday that he is assured that the Iranians would be able to repel a possible U.S. ground operation. He besides rejected any negotiations with Washington and reported that Tehran had not asked anyone to suspend his arms.

Aragchi was asked if he was afraid of a possible American land operation.

– No, we are waiting for them – the chief of diplomacy of Iran replied. “Because we are convinced that we can argue them and that would be a immense disaster for them,” he added.

Aragchi reported that Iran did not address anyone with a request for a ceasefire.

– We didn't even ask for a ceasefire last time. The last time Israel asked for a ceasefire. They asked for an unconditional ceasefire after 12 days of our opposition to their aggression," he added, referring to last year's 12-day Israeli war with Iran, in which the US joined.
