At a gathering with NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte, European commander of allied forces General Alexus Grykewich and NATO heads of defence, Kosiniak-Kamish was the only defence minister. As he told journalists erstwhile he returned to Warsaw, the invitation points to Poland's function as a “tested, crucial ally”. The aim of the visit was – he added – to present the Polish point of view on transatlantic relations and the request to increase defence spending – according to the head of the MON, to scope the level of 5% of GDP agreed at the Hague Summit should be achieved sooner than in 2035. The point is – Kosiniak-Kamish said that Europe should be an equal partner for the US in terms of military capabilities. The head of the MON besides spoke of threats to the Alliance, especially its east flank.
