On the night of 9 to 10 September, during the Russian Federation's attack on Ukraine, the Polish airspace was repeatedly violated by drones. Defence procedures were included, and drones, which posed a direct threat, were shot down by Polish and allied air forces. This was the first case in the modern past of Poland, erstwhile the Air Force utilized weapons to defend the country's airspace.

At the same time the remains of the rocket fell on an uninhabited field, far from the buildings. Fortunately, no 1 got hurt. On the night of Thursday for Friday, the Military Gendarmerie informed about the search for fragments of the mentioned rocket, most likely utilized to shoot down a drone in the Choins (Gm. Rybczewice, Świdnicki, Lublin Province).

On Friday morning, the Investigative and Investigative Department of the ZW Branch in Lublin continued collecting remains on site, supported by pyrotechnics from Lublin police. The examination and procedural activities are ongoing, and further proceedings will be conducted by the territory Attorney's Office in Lublin, Military Affairs.

According to the spokesperson for the Lublin Military Gendarmerie:

Everything indicates that these are remains of the rocket, most likely Polish. This is the subject of examination and research.

The fastest incoming information about the event assumed that the object was a Russian drone. According to ‘Rzeczpospolita’, citing anonymous sources in key state safety structures, it was, however, an AIM-120 AMRAAM rocket with a damaged guidance system. Thanks to the built-in security, there was no detonation after impacting the building.

Bogacki Criticizes Government

The head of KPRP Zbigniew Bogucki reported that president Karol Nawrocki had only found out about the incidental in Wyryka on September 17, which means that no information was given to him or his administration for almost a week. Bogacki one more time criticized Deputy Chief of the Ministry of abroad Affairs Marcin Bosacki for his claims at the UN safety Council that a Russian drone struck the home in Wyryka, and for presenting photos of the event, identifying his actions as a disgrace.

And worst of all, unfortunately [compromise – ed.] Poland. That's why we request to close this case quickly, due to the fact that this is simply a mill for Russian propaganda water. – he said.

The head of the President's Chancellery stressed that the public discussion about the incidental in Wyryka only intensified after the publication of the “Rzeczpospolita” which revealed that the Polish rocket had fallen on the house. He pointed out that according to information from the National safety Bureau, no news had reached the President's administration before. Bogacki assessed this as a deliberate concealment of information by the government.
