August 15 is an crucial date for many Poles. On that day we celebrate the Polish Army Day. Older people besides participate in authoritative ceremonies all year. Behind us is simply a military appeal, a demonstration of equipment, a parade, a symbolic collection of flowers and a solemn service.
– I thank the soldiers and civilian workers of the Polish Army for all day of service, for their real commitment and dedication. I am grateful for the very serious treatment of all tasks. This is peculiarly important, due to the fact that we are watching the war at the borders of Poland as a consequence of Russia's aggression against Ukraine. Remember – our soldiers are ready to defend the most crucial values: independence, peace, freedom. For this reason, they should feel respected and appreciated all day. I want them large satisfaction in their service to their homeland. May the nightmare of war never be tied up in the arms of our soldiers. Their loved ones should besides be thanked – for knowing the sacrifice for another man – said president Rafał Zając.
On the occasion of the feast of the Polish Army, we first met at the monument “Stargarding the Homeland – on the centenary of regaining independence”. The flowers were laid there. Then in the college there was a solemn Mass. However, as always, the most happened in the Old Town Square. Military vehicles and equipment attract many old men all year. On 15 August, the appeal, the defilade and the salva could not miss. Additionally, soldiers and civilian workers of the military received promotions and awards that day.
