May 29 is Veteran Day of Activities outside the State Borders – a peculiar vacation for all soldiers, officers and civilian workers who served on abroad missions. In 2026 the celebrations will be held in Krakow. In the capital of Małopolska, we will pay tribute to veterans for their contribution to building safety and peace in the modern world.
On 29 May 2026, the central celebrations of the Veteran Day of Activities outside the State Borders will be held in Krakow. This yearly holiday, established by the Polish Parliament in 2011, reflects the gratitude of the Republic of Poland to those who represented the country around the planet as part of peace, stableness and humanitarian operations.
"Veteran Day Activities outside the State Borders is simply a peculiar minute of tribute to men and women who have served abroad, frequently in demanding and dangerous conditions. May 29 is simply a peculiar time when, as a society, we can show them gratitude, support and focus on their experiences. It is simply a day of celebration, integration and solidarity.”, stressed the Colonel Dr. Katarzyna Rodziewska, manager of the Centre for Veterinary Activities outside the State Borders.
During authoritative celebrations we will pay tribute to veterans and thank them for their professionalism, dedication and readiness to service in the name of values that stay the foundation of a free and safe state. Central events are planned in the Main marketplace Square and in Błonia Krakowskie.
"Cracows in Krakow will have a peculiar dimension – the city is 1 of the most crucial historical and patriotic centres in Poland, powerfully connected with military tradition and memory of soldiers. Already today, we invitation veterans, their families, residents and tourists to participate in this unique meeting."
The central celebration of Veteran Day is held annually in another city of Poland. In 2025 the veterans were hosted by Gdynia, in 2024 Lublin, and a year earlier by Nowy Dwór Mazowiecki.
Details of events and organizational information will be made available closer to the date of the vacation in the communication channels of the Centre for Veteran Activities outside the State Borders.
