Heart with 2 feet
Kraków has 2 peculiar memorial sites about children who died before birth – Batowice Cemetery, where there are 8 collective graves of dead children and Tyniecki Podgórki Cemetery, where there are thirteen specified graves.
We wrote about Batowice Cemetery last year. Thanks to your support, the Association could build tombstones on all 8 graves located in this cemetery. We full realized the construction of tombstones before Christmas. We have received many calls to thank you for specified a beautiful gift for the dead children. We would like to convey these words of gratitude to you today, to the donors of this peculiar project.
On each tombstone we placed the heart with 2 feet of the kid and the epitaph “They left to live forever...”. It is not only a symbol, but an expression of the actual concern of the State, the Donors of our Association, for children who had left prematurely. Their small feet have left their mark in your hearts. It was the same - sacrifice of your hearts that turned neglected graves into memorial sites.
Thus, erstwhile overgrown graves have become well - known and attract the attention of passersby, encouraging them to halt for a while. Many of you visit these places. Thank you very much for your presence and prayer. Please, remember these children!
For respective years now, the Batowice Cemetery no longer serves collective funerals of dead children. Currently, this cemetery in Podgórki Tyniecki is simply a burial ground for children whose parents do not receive from Kraków hospitals for a household funeral. During the last funeral, July 15th, we said goodbye to 3 100 and six children.
The state of the grave in Tyniecki Hill requires urgent action. See for yourselves!

The children lost at Tyniecki Hill Cemetery were moguled
By the end of this year, we want to build the same gravestones as at Batowice Cemetery. This is simply a costly and time-consuming task, but together we can accomplish it. The cost of building thirteen tombstones with all essential charges is nearly PLN 1 100 and forty thousand.
If we can build gravestones at the Tyniecki Podgórki Cemetery, we will be happy to say that all collective graves of dead children born from municipal burials in Krakow have been cared for and arranged. There are presently twenty-one specified graves, of which thirteen on Tyniecki Hill.
As the Association, we committed to care for graves until the end of the current lease period of each burial site, and after that, to presume financial work for extending this period for further years.
Today we ask you to give generous support to this work, which will service the lost children and their families for decades. This is so a forward-looking project. But the future – as Karol Wojtyła said – begins present and so we want to begin building gravestones immediately. We request your help!
