The Swedes have just signed a contract to upgrade their JAS39 Gripen C/D aircraft. The $336 million contract involves replacing radars, avionics, engines and another systems. This means that the introduction of the next generation of the Gripen E fighter into service is improbable to be tantamount to the appearance on the “aftermarket” of C/D “for taking” machines.
