Shooting from a moving vehicle, aiming from a tight tunnel, fighting in trenches – these are just a fewer competitions at shooting-tactical competitions organized by the Military Police peculiar Branch. 29 teams from different formations took part – in addition to soldiers, besides from peculiar troops, police officers, SOP officers and border guards, among others.
It was already the second edition of the “Brothership” competition organized by the peculiar Branch of the Military Gendarmerie from Minsk Mazowiecki. They were attended by soldiers and officers from units who cooperate with the MPs during various tasks or exercises. “We want to check out, exchange experience and integrate the environment”, explains 1 organizer, ps. “Kolo”, from OSH in Minsk Mazowiecki. 29 double teams from all over Poland came to the competition. These include soldiers from the Agat Military Unit, the 15th Giant Mechanized Brigade, the 5th Podhale firearm Battalion, the Air cavalry, but besides officers from the Nadbuzhian Border Guard, the SOP, and police counter-terrorists from various cities.
During respective hours of struggle, 11 competitors took place, half of them under cover of night. “We have put the top emphasis this year on accuracy and tempo,” says another organizer, “Antek” from the Ministry of wellness in Minsk Mazowiecki. The tasks were very diverse and consisted, among others, of beating and aiming from a narrow tunnel, which forced participants to adopt different shooting attitudes. Teams fired from moving vehicles, driving fire, pushing their beards, besides checking the accuracy of the players with cuffs, in gas masks beating smokey rooms.
Once again, we're at this competition and we're not disappointed. The organizers took care of very different tasks, so we had the chance to test ourselves in completely different conditions than in average exercises – says 1 of the participants, pointing to the dynamics and diversity of competition. As 1 of the most physically demanding tasks, players exchange fighting in trenches. “The dimension of the track, the large number of goals and conditions most akin to those of the war in Ukraine were a challenge,” admits 1 of the participants from the Border Guard. On the another hand, police officers from the counter-terrorism division point to the anticipation of integration with another services as an crucial part of the competition.
First place was taken by a squad from JW Agat. On the second were officers of the 5th ABW Division, and the 3rd place was won by soldiers from the 16th Airborne Battalion from Krakow. Organizers announce another – 3rd – edition of the competition next year.
