The fresh U.S. Army temporary base, which was launched in Świętszów, will benefit from sub-units being moved to the east flank for exercises or combat duty. It is 1 of over 1 100 investments carried out under the agreement on enhanced defence cooperation between Poland and the USA.
The alleged transitional base, marked with the English abbreviation ISB (Intermediate Staging Base), occupies an area of 18 ha. Within it were designated places for tents, as well as for usage and retention of equipment. The area is fenced, supplied with media and electrical installations. He can take in 1,200 troops at any time. “Temporary accommodation will be found here by military troops being transferred to exercises or on work on the east flank of NATO. The base will benefit not only from the US Army but besides from another allied troops, specified as the Natatian fast consequence forces," explains Colonel Christopher Jones, commander of the 1st US Army Cavalry Division support brigade.
The investment was implemented within the framework of enhanced defence cooperation agreement, which was concluded by the governments of Poland and the USA in August 2020. The next points of the agreement mentioned, among others, the formation of the Extant Division Command in Poznań, the construction of the Combat Training Centre in Drawsko Pomerania or yet the USA Air Force cargo and unloading base in Wrocław-Strachowice. In full Poland undertook to carry out 114 investments in 11 different locations. A fewer of them have just been created around the Saigon. – The base opened in Świętoszów is the second of 3 specified facilities, which will accommodate a full of 4,800 soldiers – recalls Colonel Jones. In September 2023 a camp in Trzebień was launched. The base in Trout is presently under construction. The investment is almost 70% finished. It should be put into service before the end of this year.

The creation of a temporary base in Świętoszów cost PLN 46 million. It was built according to US Army standards.
The first American division began stationing in Poland in 2012. It was the alleged Aviation Detachment that went to Grace.
