Trump's plans for Gaza

The recording is simply a mention to Trump's words on February 5, erstwhile he announced that - according to his "strong recommendation" - the Gaza Strip would belong to the United States in the long term. He didn't regulation out sending American soldiers there. The president presented this imagination as an thought to break the spiral of force in the mediate East and rebuild the destroyed Gaza Strip as an "riviera of the mediate East" of an global character, besides inhabited by Palestinians.

At the same time, according to Trump, Palestinians from the Gaza Strip should be resettled to neighbouring arabian countries which, at their expense, would build for them a place to live in "peace and harmony".

The leaders of many countries worldwide, including arabian countries, and representatives of global organisations, including the UN and the European Union, criticised Trump's plan for the future of Gaza.

Israeli-Palestinian Conflict

Inhabited by 2.1 million people, the Gaza Strip has been destroyed by a war lasting for more than 15 months. The conflict broke out erstwhile Hamas ruling the territory attacked Israel's south on 7 October 2023, killing about 1,200 people and kidnapping 251 hostages. In retaliation, the Israeli army began an offensive against Hamas. According to the Gaza authorities, more than 48,000 Palestinians were killed in it. The first phase of the ceasefire has been in force since 19 January.

The global Criminal Court issued on 21 November 2024 warrants for the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, erstwhile defence minister of that country Joawa Galant, as well as Hamas leaders. Jahja Sinwara, Mohammed Deif and Ismail Hani. The ICC accused all these people of committing war crimes and crimes against humanity.
